Mrs. R.O. (Sarah) BackhouseOriginal RHS color code is 2 (b). According to the American Daffodil Year Book, 1935 published by the American Horticultural Society in Mrs. Francis King’s “Preface” entry: “I singled out a beautiful primrose trumpet of great size and fine texture.”
Named in honor of the founder of the Garden Club of America and author of Chronicles of the Garden-1925 and eight more garden books, Louisa Yeomans King (1863-1948), more commonly known as Mrs. Francis King. This daffodil was named after she admired it while attending a flower show in Heestede, Haarlem, in Holland.
